About Me

Nueva Designs began in 2001, a year after my eldest child was born. I could not believe how many pictures we took of her during her first year. I had albums full of pictures, as well as duplicates piling up in shoeboxes. I had notes about her first year jotted down in several notebooks, scrap pieces of paper, and anything else I had to write on. It was quickly getting out of hand.

When I made the transition from film to digital, the amount of photos increased exponentially. I tried creating a traditional scrapbook to chronicle her first year and the task was extremely over-whelming, tedious, and messy. I never finished it. I had to find another solution. I found myself spending more and more time at the computer downloading and scanning photos, journaling, and creating my own digital elements. This was back in 2000 when the term "digital scrapbooking" was only beginning to emerge. When I completed my first digitally mastered scrapbook and shared it with my family and friends, they were all impresed. I was able to quickly duplicate copies for my family as well as share my album virtually through the internet. It was amazing!

I began receiving requests to help others create similar scrapbooks and that is when my hobby turned into a business. It has been a wonderful venture and I enjoy helping others tell their story in artistic and creative ways.
